- Once pierced run the sharp edge of your scissor blade around the seal until the lid of the box becomes loose.
- Store scissors away and remove the lid from the box to view gift-wrap presentation..
- Remove the gift-wrap to view your magical seafood in its Moray Seafoods Branded vacuum packs.
- Place all Moray Seafoods branded packs directly into your freezer unless you are planning to eat it within 24 hours.
- Once you have removed all your Moray Seafoods branded packs you will notice a yellow warning sheet titled Attention Attention. Please read this carefully. We strongly recommend you do not remove the bubble wrap lining the dry ice underneath at this stage. Simply follow the instructions on the notice.
- Place the cool box in a room with plenty of air circulation to allow any reside dry ice to evaporate.
- Please do not touch dry ice without using gloves.
Step 2 - Freezer Tips, how to store your seafood.
- Please regularly check your freezer temperature and adjust the thermostat to ensure the products remain frozen at -18 degrees Celsius or -.04 degree Fahrenheit.
- If you have an older freezer we recommend you defrost on a regular basis. Please check the rubber seal on your freezer door is not damaged as this could cause your freezer not to work properly.
- If you have a modern freezer an auto defrost function should be available which omits you from requiring to regularly defrost.
- If your freezer is upright please remember not to overload it as this can weaken it operational performance
- If your freezer is chest format you need to remember to keep it to a high volume. This helps strengthen its operational performance as it keeps the temperature down
- A more temporary measure is to use a Fridge Freezer, but only keep a few items in this compartment and remember to follow the guidelines on the pack.
Step 3 - Defrost Tips, how to defrost your seafood.
- For ultimate seafood condition, please defrost your Moray Seafoods vacuum packs in the bottom of the fridge overnight. We recommend a period of upto 24 hours approximate defrost time.
- Once your seafood has fully defrosted, you will note some liquid in the pack. This is normal phenomenon as seafood carries a high water content.
- Word of warning, never leave fish or seafood to thaw in a warm environment. If you do we are unable to guarantee the quality of your seafood.
- If short on time, in case of an emergency you can reduce the defrosting method by running cold water over the sealed vacuum pack. The more cold water you leave to circulate around the vacuum pack, the quicket the defrost. We recommend you carry this out in a clean sink. Word of warning, if you open the vacuum pack and run cold water over the product it will have a detrimental effect on the quality of the product.
- We always recommend a slow thaw in fridge environment as a slow thaw protects the texture and apperance of our seafood.
- Do not re-freeze once defrosted
Step 4 - Cooking Tips, how to cook your seafood.
- We recommend you cook within 24 hours after defrost
- We recommend that you do not cook our seafood from frozen.
- We recommend that you do not cook our seafood in a microwave.
